**Edit**
I'm tired LOL and these were done on request. I have been thinking that a standard formula for pitch and yaw applied to the variations individually would be better, maybe. I don't know. It is an idea to pursue. I will give it some thought, but if any reading this has any ideas, please let me know **Edit** **Edit** In responce to a mail list inquiery: The 'look' of your installation of Apophysis should look similar to this... C:\..\Apophysis\Apophysis206_3Dhack.exe If you have not already made a plugins directory you will need to do so. Unzip in the plugins directory and you will achieve this look: C:\..\Apophysis\plugins\*.dll C:\..\Apophysis\plugins\readme\*.* C:\..\Apophysis\plugins\flame\*.* C:\..\Apophysis\plugins\source\*.* This pack, although it is 2D, uses the Z plane to achieve its affects and is therefore intended only for the 3D hack. I have been thinking I could combine these individual plug-ins into one but I like the independent control I have at this time. There have been a few people that have had a bit of time getting their heads around the concept of these and for them now I offer this little bit of explanation. The best approach is to use some straws and sheets of paper. Make cross out of the straws and then put a third straw through then crossing point. Thats the X Y and Z axis. Then take a single sheet of paper and punch a hole in the center and slide it down a straw. Looking at it you have 6 ways that paper can go. There is a straw up, down, left, right, towards you and away from you. If the paper is on the straw towards you then it is on the X-Y plane and moves along the Z, if the paper is on the left or right, then it is on the Y - Z plane and moved along the X (you from your view point only see a thin verical edge) and if the paper is on the top or bottom straws then it is on the X - Z plane and moves along Y (and again you only see a thin horizontal line). To see the arranged effects you then use your camera settings to rotate the flame as a whole. And when I say 'moves along' I do mean the use of the _height variables. Keeps **Edit** These are re-do's of linear and sinusoidal. All 6 are in fact 2D variations. Only, they draw one to a plane: X-Y, X-Z, and Y-Z. They also have a height control. The default is for a 0 height from the x-y-z origin. To lift the 2D sheet off that point (and thus make box forms or sided imagry) that is where the height control comes in. The sample flame, when you look at it, will look kind of sparse. But what you should see is that although the sample images end up all looking the same, they only do so because of the changes in pitch and yaw. There is one linear 3-sided box example given. **I MAY ADD MORE 2D VARIATIONS TO THIS LATER** ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Release 2 June 21, 2008 z-shift: This is a first public release of a new cluster of variations. As always, 27 are the general max plug-in's you can have in your plugin folder; and these 'should' be useful in ONLY the 3D environment. What we have on tap today is a re-work is two 2-dimentional variations, that are shape applied and/or controlled along the third dimentional plane. See the "z-shift.doc" for more information. If you get errors, first try reducing the number of plugins you have there Please also note: dA has many times done funky things with its user agreement. I read a LOT of copyright law as a result. This .flame is not covered nor protected by copyright law (see Baker v. Selden Supreme Court of the United States, January 19, 1880, 101 U.S. 99), nor will it be held under a gentlemen's agreement of use.. This I accept fully. The 206 version of the 3D Hack is still at 27 plug-ins.
In the up and coming 208 version, if *Zueuk gets them bugs all ironed out, will of course have no limits on plug-ins.
